Hey there!

I'm Karolina

I’m a user experience designer and front-end developer trained as a full stack with 20 years of design experience. I'm creative and passionate about the story every product wants to tell to the final user through digital channels. I know how to balance concept, aesthetics, and functionality into a single design solution. I have created and produced children's audiovisual projects that have been awarded internationally.

My Career so far

I graduated in graphic design with a thesis with honors from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. After graduating from college, I worked as an Art Director at Jaguar Taller Digital, a company where I eventually became a partner. I also worked as a character designer for the award-winning Colombian film "Pequeñas Voces". After several years, I left the company to move to New York City, where I studied photography at the School of Visual Arts. Upon my return, I became the Graphics Coordinator at GENTV channel, which is owned by Caracol Television.

In late 2009, I traveled to Barcelona where I developed the original idea for the short film "Migrópolis", which was presented as my graduate project for the Master's in Animation at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The short film then served as the pilot for the first season of the TV series of the same name, which was co-produced by Hierro Animación and Señal Colombia RTVC, and was created and co-directed by me. I have also directed several animated clips for "Sesame Street", from concept and development to finished product.

In 2012, I co-founded MicuFilm with Carlos Azcuaga, our own production company aimed at producing quality video content and animated projects. I currently reside in Barcelona, Spain.
